Football has been everywhere I looked, basically since I was born. Which makes sense, considering that my dad owns one of the best teams in the country, and he would love nothing more than to see me take over the team someday. And I would love to be able to help him with that, but I’m an influencer, best known as Rubie, and I would much rather spend my time focusing on fashion and the social media that I’m actually passionate about. The less I have to hear about football, the better.
I’m Ollie, and the opposite is true for me. Football in my life, but when I meet Rubie at a department store and she wants to talk about anything but football, I’m more than happy to oblige. Sparks fly and our relationship starts off with a bang, literally, but I expect it to be a one-night stand and to never see Rubie again. Instead, she is the daughter of the man that I work for, and I can’t believe I screwed up this bad.

Q&A with Lizzi Stone

Q: Can you tell me a bit about yourself and how became an author?
A: My writing partner and I have been writing forever… but both have been writing under YA pen names. When we decided to write romance we teamed up and created Lizzi Stone.

Q: What is your writing process like?
A: I am a huge outliner. I outline almost every detail of the book. The outline takes longer than the actual writing of the book. Lots of coffee is involved.

Q: What do you like to do when you are not writing?
A: Raise kids. Sit at the softball field. And I am currently watching The Witcher.
Q: How do you celebrate when you are finished writing a book?
A: Start the next book…lol
Q: How do you celebrate when your books are released?
A: Drink wine. Lots of wine.
Q: Can you tell me how the book/series came about?
A: I love sports, I grew up playing every sport I could and when I first started writing I got sucked down the YA fantasy hole, but always wanted to break out and write sports. And from there sports romance series started developing in my head.
Q: Are any of your characters similar to real-life friends or family?
A: Definitely characteristics of friends and family are in my books. You will find a lot of their quirks like their obsession with marvel characters from my husband and their witty humored bff’s from my own bff.
Q: What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
A: Time. Time is always the challenge when you have little ones running around.
Q: What part of writing this book was the most fun for you?
A: Definitely creating Chase. He is definitely one of my favorite characters.
Q: What Authors or other Books have inspired you to write this book?
A: This list is a mile long, I have so many authors who I LOVE. Lauren Blakley, Pippa Grant, Vi Keeland….and so many more!
