Chapter 1
Chloe
“Did you see these one-star reviews?” I all but yell at my friend and co-worker Daisy. I don’t wait for her to answer as I read the reviews out loud.
“This book is as exciting as watching grass grow during a drought. The sex scenes were lacking in what can only be described as the author’s lack of sexual awareness and inept attempt to turn a boring vanilla sexual existence into what she perceives as spicy. This book will leave you as dry as the drought mentioned above.”
“This book is a hard pass, unfortunately that’s the only thing that this book makes hard.”
“Can you believe that! I mean it’s not that bad, is it?” I say worried that the reviews are spot on.
Sure, I struggled with the sex scenes in my debut novel, having very limited sexual experience just like the reviewers called me out on. But they weren’t that bad, were they?
“I mean they were ok, maybe a little lacking in the spicy department.” Daisy hesitantly answers, trying not to crush my dream of being a professional romance author.
She is so sweet trying not to upset me. But that’s Daisy, so sweet and innocent, not a mean bone in her body. Even when she broke up with her no-good cheating ex-boyfriend, she did it in a way that made it seem like the asshole wasn’t to blame. She never got mad at him, only thanked him for their time together and to wish him well with his new girlfriend.
I mean who does that, I would cut my boyfriend’s balls off if he ever cheated on me. Which he didn’t but he did break up with me because I was too boring in bed. Ugh, the reviewers are right I don’t know enough about sex to write about it.
I am going to be stuck working as a waitress for the rest of my life. I don’t mind the job; the bar is the most popular bar in our hometown. That’s right, I moved back home after graduation last spring. Sleeping in my parents’ basement because they turned my room into their workout room. Now here I am working as a waitress in a bar instead of using my creative writing degree.
“You need experience to write a good sex scene.” Daisy exclaims, like she just solved a difficult math problem.
“Let’s make a sex wish list, it can be your naughty list.” She laughs as she retrieves a pen and paper from under the bar.
Q&A with Wynter Ryan
Q: Can you tell me a bit about yourself and how became an author?
A: I am a nurse who has always loved reading romance novels. I read all of the Julia Quinn novels before Netflix was even a thought. I always wanted to write my own books. So, this is really a dream come true.

Q: What is your writing process like?
A: I am still new to all of this, so I don't have a set process. I try to write a few hours a night.

Q: What do you like to do when you are not writing?
A: I love to read. I also help coach my nephew's basketball team.

Q: How do you celebrate when you are finished writing a book?
A: By taking a long bubble bath

Q: How do you celebrate when your books are released?
A: Go on a date with my husband.

Q: Can you tell me how the book/series came about?
A: I wanted to do a Christmas themed book and the idea of a naughty list just popped into my head.

Q: Are any of your characters similar to real-life friends or family?
A: There are bits and pieces of my real-life that I pull from. For example, my book "Just One Night" describes a patient I once took care of when I worked in a burn unit.

Q: What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
A: As a new Author almost, everything is a challenge. But I would have to say deadlines are not my strong point.

Q: What part of writing this book was the most fun for you?
A: The first chapter with Chloe and Daisy deciding what should be on the naughty list.

Q: What Authors or other Books have inspired you to write this book?
A: Last March I came across the author Hope Ford. I absolutely loved her short read romance books, I read everyone as fast as I could find them on kindle unlimited.

Q: What is your favorite passage from this book?
A:
“Excuse me? How does that even work? I mean who keeps track of who’s in which hole? Me? Them?” I can’t even wrap my mind around how that would work.
“Is it like musical chairs? When the music stops, do they switch holes?” I continue, as Alice bursts out laughing, but Daisy has a far off look on her face. Oh, is little miss goody two shoes a freak in the sheets? Maybe I should let her write my sex scenes.

Q: If you could meet any of your characters, who would it be and what would you say to them?
A: It would definitely be Theo Bennett, He is the MC in my first book, A Perfect Alpha. I would thank him for helping me get started on this amazing journey of becoming an author.
